Short Story

Israel has occupied Gaza since 1967 and continues to maintain control over its borders, airspace, and coastline, effectively imposing a blockade on the territory. The blockade severely restricts the movement of people and goods in and out of Gaza. It has led to a dire humanitarian crisis, with limited access to essential services such as clean water, electricity, and healthcare. The economy has been devastated, and unemployment rates are among the highest in the world.

Gaza’s population, which is over two million people, suffers from widespread poverty and food insecurity. The lack of access to clean water and adequate sanitation facilities has resulted in health problems and the spread of diseases. The healthcare system is overwhelmed and under-resourced, making it difficult to provide proper medical care to those in need. Additionally, frequent military escalations and airstrikes have caused trauma and psychological distress among the population, particularly children.

Since the escalation of violence in October 2023 reached unprecedented levels, Gaza has been subjected to continuous airstrikes and tighter blockades.

Gaza’s residents face a daily struggle for survival due to the blockade and the ongoing conflict. They urgently need assistance to access essential services, rebuild infrastructure, and create economic opportunities. Without international support, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza will continue to worsen, with devastating consequences for its population.
